Just Between Us
Fashionable Grunge
Fun with architecture that looks like it is forever under construction
Description:
The project was a tenant fit-up for a prominent retail location on Kitchener’s main City Square. The design of this fashion store incorporated the owner’s vision for a modern, stylish and comfortable atmosphere with the creative use of unconventional materials and innovative designs for display shelves. Inspired by the idea of shopping on a construction site, the design incorporates:
- A custom racking system for display that looks like temporary scaffolding,
- Exposed pipes, ducts and structural elements of the base building,
- A central display system made of aircraft cable, loose masonry and rusted steel checker-plate.
- A lighting design which enhanced merchandise displays and provided visual interest from the street.
Our Role:
Concept, lighting, display and store design, documentation, construction administration, project management and installation supervision.
Achievements:
With a very tight budget, we met the project scope, time and budget.
